HSE Analyst

Position Summary

Performs accurate research, analysis, data management and related support for the C&J QHSE group and internal C&J staff as well as produces output for Customer bids and requests. Uses internal and external resources and applications to compile, contrast and compare data sets and formulates that information into clear, focused and professional presentation materials.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides analysis and monitoring of different HSE programs, incident management, behavior-based observations, investigations, audits, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), etc. using tools related to statistics, occupational health and safety, environmental sciences, economics/costing, etc.
  • Conducts analytical reviews and audits and trending HSE reports; performs gap analysis and evaluates activity deficiencies.
  • Maintains records, reports, and documents required to meet corporate and regulatory requirements including injuries, near misses, environmental releases, training, etc.
  • Collects, registers, reviews, distributes, presents and archives HSE data, and prepares initial documentation for bid packages.
  • Conducts searches and computer research regarding HSE regulatory issues, and gathers industry-wide HSE related information.
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations and industry best practices.
  • Assists in the development of policies, procedures and standards. Interacts with corporate QHSE team and other divisions.
  • Performs support functions for QHSE team (Staffing needs, miscellaneous calculations, organization of HSE meetings, logistics support for HSE members, etc.).
  • Fulfills pertinent miscellaneous duties/functions as assigned.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with multidisciplinary QHSE and C&J teams and capacity to establish professional credibility with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong leadership ability, actively motivates individuals and team members while contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to be an active team participant that contributes knowledge and evaluation skill sets to cross functional teams who review, design and implement processes, databases and applications for QHSE and C&J groups.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Detail oriented individual with proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects concurrently and within projected deadlines.
  • Ability to offer creative solutions and resourceful problem solving skills a must.
  • Energetic self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  Must have flexibility of working extended hours as needed, and the ability to work independently.  
  • In addition to independent qualities, the ability to work well as part of a team is vital.
  • Prior experience supporting Oil and Gas Completion and Production operations strongly desired.
  • Ability to prepare and present clear and concise oral and written opinions, reports and presentations. Well organized, effective written, verbal and presentation skills required.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and databases and data management is required.
  • Ability to present complex data in simple reports

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-4 years work experience
